At this main factory for the prolific brand, tours are offered every day for people to see just how these delicious candies are made, learn some trivia, and maybe grab a bite to eat too.
Among the interesting decor, you’ll find in the factory is portraits of our United States presidents, recreated fully in colored jelly beans. One of the most famous portraits is of president Ronald Reagan. At the factory, they really celebrate the once California Governor turned President, and a case of Reagan memorabilia can be found as well.
One of the first attraction you’ll run into there is the Jelly Belly Cafe, where one can order Jelly Bean themed food, or even have birthday parties in secluded, sound-proofed rooms. The food is mostly fast-food type items, but it’s all shaped like the ever mesmerizing little beans we all know and love.
Of course, when it comes to things to eat in Fairfield, CA, one of the main attractions would have to be the Jelly Belly Candy Store. There, they sell every single colorful kind of bean that the Jelly Belly company makes. They give away free samples for you to discover what jelly beans you like, and in what combinations.
You can also purchase ornate, prepackaged sets of candies in the candy store, including sugar-free varieties. As well, they sell a plethora of other confections made by the company, such as Dutch Mints, Jordan Almonds, fruit snacks, and other chocolate items.
In the Visitor Center, there are more sugary treats to buy, over at the Chocolate Shoppe and Fudge Counter. Their candy chef’s hand make scrumptious gourmet desserts, all freshly prepared every day. Their menu of confections includes dark and milk chocolate candy clusters, truffles, and fudge in a variety of seasonal flavors, caramel apples, marshmallow treats, caramel corn and chocolate molds too.
Guided tours will take visitors on a full, quarter-mile journey through the place where Jelly Beans are born. Attendees are given the unique and memorable paper hat to wear on the trip, as they watch the whirring, buzzing machines busily begin the seven-day production process of the Jelly Beans. Tour guides and videos will explain each part of the process and what’s going on inside the factory.
The Jelly Belly factory is open every day of the week, from the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM. Factory tours are self-guided and offered on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge. Their tours are ADA compliant, meaning that wheelchairs and strollers are accepted in all parts of the tour. The Jelly Belly factory only closes for Thanksgiving Day, Easter Sunday, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. Keep in mind that the factory tour runs on weekends, however, the production facilities are shut down on weekends. Schedule your trip accordingly with that in mind.
