Residents of Fairfield California are always looking for good ways to stay entertained. One such option might be the Scandia Family Center on I-80, but is it the place that visitors are looking for? Let’s find out what the Scandia Family Center is all about.
Scandia targets families and couples with an environment full of fun and games for people of all ages. They are especially known for their miniature golf courses, that are fully decorated with ponds, streams, fountains, and gardens. A Scandinavian castle overlooks the challenging 18 hole course and provides a premise for some decent entertainment value.
They also boast a Laser Tag facility, where two teams of players team up in a massive modern game of harmless shooting fun. Themed around a space setting, a game of Laser Tag will have you jumping in and out of neon-colored cover and is a fun and exciting way to spend some time with friends.
If baseball’s your thing, they also offer a batting cage area with 18 pitching machines. The pitching machines are capable of launching balls at different speeds to accommodate for both beginners and more experienced batters, which is good for folks seeking a challenge.
For when you get hungry, they offer food from the Scandia Cafe. Pizza, Nachos, Pretzels and more, the cafe is decked with fun food any kid or adult would enjoy for a diet-breaking change of pace.
Other attractions include “Water Bugs”, a pool-centric take on bumper carts, that involves small boats in a large pool. The “Lil’Indy Raceway”, a go-kart racecourse that provides the fun of a real race, just on a small and friendly scale. Lastly, the Clubhouse for Kids attraction provides a padded play environment for juniors to play and climb in a safe way.
Visitors have had a lot of different experiences at Scandia, however. Some know it for being a boatload of fun for the whole family. Other visitors have reported instances of the entire park being poorly maintained, and in need of renovation. Some have even said that many of the attractions were dirty, and didn’t always smell good.
However, families in Fairfield, California still know the establishment as a place where kids and adults can expend their energy, make memories and pass some time. So while Scandia may not be perfect, it’s an attraction where your needs will be met, and fun can be had safely.
Scandia’s location is 4300 Central Place, Fairfield, CA 94534. Their business hours are Sunday through Thursday 10 AM to 11 PM, and Friday through Saturday 10 AM to Midnight. They are also open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with curtailed hours of operation. Their prices are decent, with 1 round of miniature golf plus 50 arcade tokens costing only $17.99. If you only want to play at the arcade and have fun with some of the attractions, you can buy an unlimited pass for $37. Overall, Scandia can be a fun and cheap day out with the kids that is unique to Fairfield, CA. Your mileage may vary though.
